Some Scrappy Time

It feels like forever ago that I have really wanted to scrap, my MOJO was just gone, but it's back and man it feels soooooooooooo good to want to scrap again.

Firstly I loved the sketch over at Kraft+Challenge blog, absolutely love the triangles.

and I also haven't used Kraft as a background in a very very long time.  Here is my take on the challenge.

I didn't even realize that I used Triangle pattern paper as well, I used a kit from Clique Kits and the papers just fitted perfectly for these photos.

The next challenge was for this month's challenge over at D'Lish Scraps, here is the challenge

I decided to use the colour combination as my inspiration, I had ordered the some of the items from the Just Add Paper Kit, I used the Journal Pack.  For my background I sprayed some Lindy's Stamp Gang Apricot mist on some Punchinella to get the background - just love the way the background came out.

The peach cherry blossom and Resin Daisy work well with the Journal Pack as well.  The Word EXPLORE is actually in GOLD but it doesn't look like because of the sun.

I couldn't resist I just add some sequence on it as well.

Anything Goes

Happy Easter everyone!, well I finally managed to do a little scrapping this weekend, it felt so good to actually scrap again.  I haven't really had the inclination to scrap for a long time, but finally I sat down on Saturday and created this layout for the Clique Kits April Challenge.  It was perfect because there were no rules, just scrap anything....

Got out my gelatos and stared off with just pink, but then decided to add some gorgeous turquoise in as well, and using my Prima Circle stamps which I have wanted to for ages, I am so pleased with the result.

A couple of close ups....

Feels so good to be scrapping again.

February Challenge # 7

YAY it's time to share my favourite layout with you, one I created for the February Challenge over at 123 Get Scrappy.  Your challenge picks are:-

I used the middle row, Polka Dots, Fibres and Vellum and this is what I created.

I created the polka dots by tracing around several different circle shapes lightly with a pencil.  I then chose my colours and started painting inside the circles making sure I have lots of water and held the cardstock upwards to make it drip.  If it doesn't drip the way you want it to blow hard towards the water and it will spread like a splatter.

Once the paint had dried I took different size circle shaped items (like a plastic cup and an empty toilet paper roll) and added some black paint which I had watered down and stamped over the painted circles.

To add a little difference I added some more stamped circles here and there.  For my vellum I used the Studio Calico Velum heart stickers and you can sort of see the muslin I have used underneath the photo.

To add some more interest with circles I added some Glitz Rhinestones to my layout.  I've also added some black old rubons just randomly to add some black into the layout.

So there you go, hope you have a go at the challenge and look forward to seeing what you have created.

You have until February 28th to upload your layout, and if you need some more inspiration go and check out the design team's layout on the blog, they are fabulous.

February Challenge - Scrap It Girl

YAY - it's February and it's my first challenge over at Scrap It Girl.  This month's challenge is to use Hearts on your layout, being February and Valentines "Hearts" just make sense.

I have created a layout of my niece's.  They had a photo shoot when they were all together and the photo's are just sooo gorgeous so couldn't resist creating a layout using them.

I started with a bright orange patterned paper and put Gesso on the whole page so I could get to work with my water colours.  I have actually used some water colours and the blue is actually sprINKlers from October Afternoon mixed with some water to tone it down a little.

I cut out some feathers from the October Afternoon pp's and added some muslin underneath to give it a feathery feel.

Here is what we are giving to our challenge winner this month.   A variety of doily’s, hearts, buttons, journal cards, ribbon, feathers, bling, straws, misc. embellishments, paper, and more hearts.  Basically a collection of pretties.. to use on any of your upcoming projects.

So head on over to the blog to see the other gorgeous creations from the rest of the Design Team and give it a go and be in the running to win a prize from Scrap It Girl.
