Challenge # 50 and a good-bye

Sadly this is last challenge over at Challenge Me Happy, Annelie has made a very difficult decision to the challenge site which has run for over 2 1/2 years, and has done a great job running the site.  From me, I just wanted to say a BIG FAT THANK YOU to Annelie for the opportunity of being part of the Design Team, it's been a great ride....

So for the last challenge, we want to see your best work, and it's a favorite challenge - ANYTHING GOES....  I have used the July Crazy Monday Kit to create my layout.

I just love the teals and yellows together, they work so well together.  Here are a couple of close ups

So give it a go - lucky last challenge...you have until midnight 1st August to enter.

Scrapping Catch Up

WOW it's been a while since my post, I am back at work now and don't have as much time as I would like to scrapbook.  So have quite a few layouts to share.....

Firstly, Challenge Me Happy FaceBook page were running a National Scrapbook Day competition and here are the three layouts I did.

Challenge # 1 - create a blue tonned layout...I used some scraps to create this layout of hubby & I together with different washi tapes (Loving the washi tapes at the moment, especially that thick grey chevron one from SC)

Challenge # 2 - Create a layout using the word LIFE on it.... now this I had lots of fun with - I used my water colours over the embossed words LIFE,

I also made my own little circle banner, and finished it off with some sequence

Challenge # 3 - inspiration challenge

The next challenge is for the ScrapFriends Sketch challenge this month - here is the sketch

and here is my layout, again using lots of Washi Tape

Last challenge was a weekly challenge over at Studio Calico... using pastel shades...

and a couple of close ups

so that's all for now.....

This fortnight's challenge over at Challenge Me Happy is a SKETCH CHALLENGE, created by the very talented Annelie.....

The papers I used were from the My Minds Eye Follow Your heart range, I thought they were perfect to compliment the sketch as they have the hexagonal shapes on them already, so I just catch the shapes out and then arranged them according to the sketch.

Now we want to see your take on this! Please enter a project that is made EXCLUSIVELY for this challenge. If you don’t, your entry will not be considered for the prize.

Upload the link to your blog post or gallery post with your creation

Time for another Challenge

I am just loving the Challenges over at Challenge Me Happy, and this fortnight challenge is a super recipe challenge.

The recipe is to used the following on your layout
  • one or more stamps
  • two photos
  • ribbon or twine or both
  • two or more paper clips
  • no cardstock
  • three patterened papers or more
Mist/paint/ink & border punches are freebies as always

So for my papers, I started off with the gorgeous new My Minds Eye Tangerine - Sunshine Beam Paper as my base page but I cut a little piece out from the underneath the photo as it had red dots on which I love, I have also added some Tangerine Together Paper - Round, together with a little scrap from October Afternoon (but I cannot remember the range it came from.  I just love the new range from My Minds Eye, the subdued colours are just soooo cool.  So those are my three papers I have used,

Next, Two photos - these photo's are a follow on from our trip to Arrowtown, we went taboganing on the top of the Remarkables, and the photo's are of me trying very hard to make sure I stayed straight on the tabogan and not fall off.
I have added some yellow twine from the My Minds Eye Miss Caroline range, some yellow / red paper clips from my supplies and then lastly my Tim Holtz number stamp.

I really loved the base paper, so didn't want to layer too many papers over the top of it, so I created little banners using the three different papers.  All I did to the base paper was add some of my most favourite sprINKlers from October Afternoon - I just love those.
here are a couple of close up shots...

All products used on this layout can be purchased over at Scrappin Patch, did you know that you can collect rewards points for everything you purchase.  You receive 1 point for every $1.00, or part thereof. One point = .9c or part thereof in proportion to the $ amount you spend. e.g. you will receive 4.5c for a .50c spend. If you spend $25.30 you will receive 26 points but the $ value of the points will be $2.27.  I think I have purchased quite a few things using my rewards points, especially for something which I have been waiting to buy, it always comes in handy.
Anyway thank you to Annelie & the team over at Challenge Me Happy for this great challenge, it was alot of fun, and I am really happy with the final product.

Anything Goes

OHHHH what a fun challenge this week over at Challenge Me Happy, you can do anything you want to,
I have created another layout using the new Manor House 6x12 PP's.

I have used the My Private Happiness Paper - Creative Dreams, as my main sheet, and then cut some circles from the My Private Happiness Paper - The Most Beautiful Moments.  I tried out some texture paste using my Prima Brick Mask, then once dried I used some soft pink Tim Holtz Distress stain over the top using a wet wipe giving it a soft tone.  Absolutely thrilled the way the brick work came out....

For my title I have used a Chipboard Title "Everyday Moments" from 2 Crafty and sprayed with Chalkboard Glimmermist, to compliment the blues in the pattern papers.

To give the layout a bit of dimension, I have used some foam tape under some of the circles, and added a little Prima Daisy flower.

Great Challenge - loved doing this layout, I am sure I will using more texture paste on my layouts.

Make your own embellishments

Back from the Scrappin Patch retreat, it was great to catch up with everyone, and once again it was a fabulous weekend away.  Didn't actually get that much scrapping done, managed to finish my SMASH Album (Trina's Class) and then did two Exploding Boxes (Megan's class).  A great weekend away though.....

This fortnight's challenge over at Challenge Me Happy is to create your own embellishments, something I have been doing alot of lately.... so it suited me perfectly.

I have used the My Minds Eye Bright Side range of papers for this layout, absolutely love the Orange, Teal and white together - they complement each other so well.  I bought the whole kit as it was alot better value for money, and of course everything matches....

For my handmade embellishments, I made my own banner and looped it through with some black / white twine and in-between to give a little dimension - added some random buttons.

My second handmade embellishment, I have used some Packaging from Pink Paislee London Market Jumbo Numbers - oooh la la they are gorgeous - anyway I cut around the back of the packaging and popped it up with some foam tape, and popped a handmade banner underneath it....

Here are a couple of other layouts using the same range of papers, and I still have 3 full sheets of PP left.....what a bargin for $21.00 for the kit over at Scrappin Patch.  You get  9 patterned papers - one of each design, and one 12 x 12" sheet of diecuts.

Here is a little close up - including some WASHI tape on this one layout,

and this one includes a October Afternoon Tin Pin.... love those toooo

Absolutely loving this range, I bought the blue / red one as well, sooo still have lots of scrapping to get done.

Masking - CMH # 18

I was eager to scrap today, I had a day off work today, and helped Adrienne out at the shop, it was so great to spend the morning with her... Thanks Adrienne.  After picking the girls up from school, I went straight into my scrap room to create this fortnight's challenge over at Challenge Me Happy,

Challenge # 18 is to use masking on your layout, I absolutely LOVE my Prima Brick Mask, so used that as my start on the white cardstock together with some Scattered Straw Distress Stain, and then splattered some Red October Afternoon Sprinklers - I used a paint brush to splatter it this time as I wanted bigger splatters.

I am absolutely loving the colours from the MME Dilly Dally range as well as the new Echo Park This and That, they really mix well together.

Products used:- Scattered Straw Distress Stain, Red October Afternoon Sprinklers, MME Dilly Dally Adventures Fair Paper, Dilly Dally Best Vines Paper, Dilly Dally Hello Flannel Paper, Echo Park This and That Sticker Sheet & Alpha Sheet, Dilly Dally Decorative Brads Celebrate, and MME Follow your Heart Be Amaizing Brads

10 years ago, Emma was six months old and I had to return to work.  I was soo upset because I would have loved to be able to stay at home with her, and be a stay at home mum.  I remember the first time we took her to Daycare, I dropped her off, she cried her eyes out and I came home and cried my eyes out.  I called the Daycare but she was doing just fine, my heart was sooo sore and I felt soo bad, but we trying to save to buy our first house so I had to go back to work.

This fortnight's challenge over at Challenge me Happy is "10 years ago", so this layout is pretty special because I want Emma to know that I really didn't want to go back to work, but had to.  I was very lucky to be able to work school hours, which still gave me time with the girls in the afternoon, especially for Abigail who didn't have to go to Aftercare anymore either, so in the long run it was all good.

I still cannot believe Emma is 10 this year, and Abigail will be 17 (WOW) I feel sooo old now, I have to say I am extremely fortunate to have such wonderful girls whom I love dearly.

Here is a little close up of the journalling

Products used:- Simple stories 100 days paper - Endless Summer, MME Dilly Dally Best Checkered Paper, Vines, Crate Paper Farmhouse Cupboard PP, Black Bazzill

It's been quite a busy scrappy weekend, as I am busy with some page kits to sell at the Scrappin Patch Spring Retreat in March, so I will leave you with a couple of sneak peeks of some of pages....

Anyway that's all for now, Happy Scrapping and TFL

So onto Challenge # 16, it's a receipe challenge and I really struggled with this, sooo many Pattern Papers, but I managed to actually keep the layout simple and still use all the ingredients, although I have to say I did want to add a little something extra... but didn't.

Challenge Me Happy Challenge # 15

It's been a while since I scrapped, so I decided to give my MOJO a little push and enter the Challenge Me Happy Challenge # 15, it's a word challenge and you have to use the word "NEW" in your title.

Emma received some gorgeous Sketches from Urshie so it was appropriate for me to use this photo for this particular challenge.  When we to Akaroa the beach where we stayed was full of pebbles and rocks and she had to use them when we walked into the sea.

I have used all old products, mainly from Websters seaside range (I think)  - Prima Journal Card at the back of the photo (Paisley Range) - Purple Glimmermist which I have splattered to look like paint splats, and these old babies Robin's Nest Dewdrops, some purple Sheer Ribbon to finish it off (that was my only new item I purchased for this layout).

Here are a couple of close ups...

The purple paper was quite the right purple, so I added an old rubon I had, which I also put onto the butterflies I punched.

Love these little Robin's Nest Dewdrops, it always just finishes it off, when you need that something extra.
